LIFE OF A TREE
By now you may have heard about moringa, if at the very least that it’s something ‘good for you’. I’ll be the first to admit that until very recently, I’d never tried moringa for myself – until I came across Life of a Tree’s range.
Founder and farmer Femi Aseru is the man behind the brand. With a team based in Nigeria, moringa trees are organically grown and nurtured with no chemicals in sight, with the leaves and seeds then sent to Femi where he produces teabags, extra virgin oil, kombucha (a fermented tea drink) and more.
So why moringa? Here comes the fun facts:
Moringa contains 4x more protein than eggs
It also has 4x more calcium than milk
We all know bananas has a high percentage of potassium, but moringa has up to 3x more
4x more fibre than oats
(My favourite – particularly for this time of year in the UK!) a huge 7x more vitamin C than oranges.
Femi shares Life of a Tree’s top three bestselling moringa products and their respective health benefits:
Organic moringa teabags
‘It tastes great (as the 2019 Great Taste award co-signs) plus has the added benefit of aiding your detox and is 100% caffeine free.’
2. Extra virgin cold-pressed moringa seed oil
‘This is a natural antiseptic, with high inflammatory properties.’ I tried this for myself and can attest to a little going an extremely long way – my skin literally glowed!
3. Moringa Kombucha
‘This is the first of its kind and I’m proud to say it’s brewed in Peckham, South East London. Not only is it tasty, it also promotes good gut health and is infused with natural probiotics.’
