KAREN HARTLEY
One of the biggest buzzwords within the black community right now, is therapy. With more of us seeking additional support for optimum wellbeing, fully-trained counsellor Karen Hartley is a go-to for those in need.
From pre-marital to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), many of us are becoming aware that counselling can aid our overall development in a positive and enriching way. How exactly does it differ to talking to a friend? Let the therapist herself explain:
“I am a qualified therapist and registered BACP member with extensive training on how to support people. What’s discussed in the room is strictly confidential and provides you the opportunity to discuss your life experiences in a non-judgemental, empathic environment. I won’t offer advice but assist in taking action toward your goals and what’s important to you. The key difference is that the session is all about you and your wellbeing.
I work in a humanistic, confidential, client centred way to help you explore problematic areas and support you moving forward. Offering long term or short term face to face work.
I can’t guarantee my style of therapy will suit your taste but I’d like the chance to work with you if:
- You want to make a change
- You’re willing to invest the time to make it happen
- You’re prepared to put in the work with my support.”
